The Long Beach Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization established in 1983 to feed hungry people in the Long Beach, NY area.

Dear Friends of the Long Beach Soup Kitchen,
We hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer and all that our beautiful barrier island has to offer at this time of the year.
We at the soup kitchen are busy preparing and serving daily meals and to go bags to our growing number of guests. We remain open six days a week all summer.
We are very concerned with the news and proposed policies out of Washington DC. The proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits will directly and negatively affect all of us.
We need to plan for this Fall and we need your help to make sure we have enough supplies to meet the needs of our hungry and food insecure guests.
Both of our main contributors Island Harvest and L I Cares who supply us with perishables and non-perishables are feeling the effects as well.

The Long Beach Soup Kitchen needs the communities assistance in stocking our shelves with the following CANNED food items:
- Black Beans
- Kidney Beans
- Chick Peas
- Green Peas
- Cut Carrots
- Peas and Carrots
- Chicken Stock
- Chef Boyardee
- Canned Chicken
- Canned Plain Tomato Sauce
- Spam
- Sardines
Additionally, we also need:
- Cereal Boxes, large & small
- Jarred Pasta Sauce
- Small Bottles of Vegetable Oil

LBSK has served over 20,400 meals annually and climbing.
The Long Beach Soup Kitchen distributes hot and cold meals to-go six days a week
Monday through Saturday from 11:15am until 12:45pm.
The Food Pantry is available on Mondays and Thursdays and includes fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, non-perishables and canned goods.
All are welcome. Anyone in need of a delicious meal is invited to join us.
Our doors are open to all.
Our Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry are always in need of the following items:
Small bottles of vegetable oil
Chicken/Beef broth
Any canned Chef Boyardee type products
Olive oil
Individual bags of cookies and chips
Large Dawn dish detergents
Earth-friendly paper towels
Toiletries (disposable razor, travel size shampoo & soap, deodorant, tampons, toothpaste & toothbrush)
